Happy December, lovelies! 🎅⛄🎁❄️

Not sure about you, but November was going about 100mph for me. I blinked, and it was over. I barely had time to take a breath from finishing DRAGON MARKED before I dove into STORM WOOD.

I've been skirting burnout for a few months , but I went into November knowing it was going to be chaotic, hectic, & just a jumble of running around. I was exhausted, but, happily, also energized.

I took my eldest and her BFF shopping in Houston with my brother to get xmas decorations. It was about the only day I had between books, and I worried about using that day when I could be vegging or getting something off my mile-long to-do list. Yet, it was the best day. In fact, it was exactly what I needed—despite getting up early, dropping Sisko off at his favorite place (dog sitter), getting the girls, grabbing our traditional tea and breakfast for the road, and heading out for the 2 hour drive.

Once we were in Houston, it was nonstop shopping, fun, laughter, and so many memories. I was wiped by the time we got home. But in a good way. That trip rejuvenated me as nothing else could.

It also got me in the holiday spirit. I took down fall and got out Christmas. I've really scaled back on my decorating the past few years, but I went full throttle this year. And I really believed Amos had grown out of messing with the tree since he hadn't done it the last two. But no, the little arsehole promptly began wrecking my gorgeous tree the minute I finished decorating.

He thinks its a game. I don't. He apologized by rubbing against me purring, but promptly did it again about an hour later. He has his favorite ornaments (none are breakable) that he pulls off the tree, and I let him have them.

I can't stay mad at my fuzzy boy (aka tree destroyer) long. Especially after the year he's had with medical issues. I've begun weaning him off the steroids, and his appetite has already started to diminish, sadly. But he's still fiesty and enjoying life.

So, here's to a fun-filled, memorable December for us all!
