Happy February

Happy February! I watched and read some amazing shows and books in January. Here are my favorites of the month!

First up, my favorite movie of January. OMG. Why, oh, WHY did I wait so long to watch this movie. It was AH-MAZING. I loved the story, the acting, and the music. (the MUSIC!!). It has quickly moved into being a movie I’ll watch again and again, picking up new things each time.

It has some of the best lines! I didn’t know what I’d think of Chris Evans as the villian, but damn if he didn’t pull it off spectacularly. I shouldn’t have worried though. And Ryan Gosling. Yeah, perfect in so many ways!

The fact it was adapted from a book only makes me eager to find the books and read them. To make things even better, I read that there’s a second movie in the works. Woohoo! Find it on Netflix.

Next is my favorite show of the month. There were some amazing ones, but this one really stuck out.

Wow. I’m a huge Emily Blunt fan, and I was interested in seeing how she did in a western. I wasn’t prepared to fall in love with her character, or that of Chaske’s, her co-star so utterly that it will forever leave a mark upon me. Be prepared to be gut punched from the first moment it starts until the last. And have tissues ready. I haven’t cried so hard in a very, very long time. I’ve already rewatched this a second time, and it is definitely on my list of favorites. It’s a limited series, so there’s just this season, but it has everything you could possibly want/need in a show. Incredible actors, phenomenal writing (pay attention to details! Her color of dress, the way he holds back words!), the scenery, and the attention to detail and facts (especially for the indigenous people). Find it on Amazon Prime.

Finally we have a mix of TV and books.

This is one of my all time favorite shows. I used to regularly watch it and Stargate: SG1, but it’s been a few years. I went through an entire rewatch, and fell in love with the team all over again. (Seriously, not sure if I could pick between Sheppard or Ronan.).

They left things hanging instead of giving us a 6th seasonβ€”or the movie we were promised. However, they did finish out the series with a set of 8 books that I’m in the middle of reading for the first time. If you loved Stargate (original movie or SG1), then check out Atlantis, and then the books. You won’t be disappointed!

Until next month!
